MatCats Youth Wrestling Program is the youth club arm of the Collegiate Wrestling Program. Open to all Students from 3rd - 6th grade, the program is designed to be a fun and safe introduction to the sport of wrestling. The Collegiate Varsity Wrestling coaching staff and parent volunteers run the program.
The MatCats Youth Wrestling Club will usually meet twice a week from Thanksgiving break to Christmas break and once a week from Christmas to mid-February to give young athletes the opportunity to learn about the sport of wrestling and to play wrestling-related games in a safe, constructive environment. Club members will also have the option to compete in the Richmond Metropolitan Youth Wrestling League on six Sunday afternoons in January and early February. See MatCats Wrestling Schedule for exact dates.
Participation in the program costs $185 and includes the cost of a USA Wrestling membership card, membership in the Richmond Metropolitan Youth Wrestling League (which enables wrestlers to compete in Sunday matches), top-notch instruction from Collegiate's Varsity Wrestling coaches, and a club t-shirt.
